The Foundation Pio Alferano and Virginia Ippolito promoted the exhibition entitled "In Hoc Signo", designed by Santino Carta and curated by Vittorio Sgarbi, with the sponsorship of the Fondazione di Sardegna, the President of Regione Sardegna Council and the City of Sedilo. The opening will take place March 22, 2016 in Cagliari, at 17, at the headquarters of the Fondazione di Sardegna. Speakers Vittorio Sgarbi, Tito Stagno and Savior Niffoi.
The exhibition will be dedicated to the celebration of the Ardia of Sedilo and the cult of San Costantino. Every year, for centuries, between the afternoon of the 6th and the dawn of July 7, an impetuous river of brave men riding fearlessly around the Sanctuary of St. Constantine the small town of Sedilo. To watch them and to support them there is always a dense crowd, it came mainly from the north-central Sardinia, where the cult of the saint is more prevalent.
The 16 artists invited to participate with as many works (13 paintings and three sculptures) will set out the highlights of the festival, from the faces of women, fairs and elegant in their traditional costumes, the riders in the race on their steeds, the riflemen, the crowd , agitated and delirious, the poor beggars, located along the road leading to the sanctuary, until the real star, the center of the feast, St. Constantine. They will seize the movements and the silences, the courage and the fear of spectators and riders, all protagonists of a faith by the popular flavor, imbued with the most authentic tradition, one that resists time and fashions, because "written" in the hearts of the people.
In the catalog essays critical of Vittorio Sgarbi, the lyrics of Umberto Cocco, Tito Stagno and Anna Lia Pintau, as well as testimonies and impressions sull'Ardia Giulio Angioni, Gianfranco Cabiddu, Cristiana Collu, Sebastiano Congiu, Marcello Fois, Paolo Fresu, Antonio Marras, Piero Marras, Philip Martinez, Maria Antonietta Mongiu, Anthony Muroni, Salvatore Niffoi, Paul Pillonca, Gigi Riva and Gavino Sanna.

Promoted by the Region of Calabria and the Regional Secretariat MiBACT for Calabria with the scientific coordination of the Museums of Calabria, the National Gallery of Cosenza and the Superintendence for Fine Arts and Landscape of Calabria, the exhibition Giovanni Gasparro versus Mattia Preti it was conceived in during the celebrations for the fourth centenary of the birth of Mattia Preti, artist among the most significant and emblematic of Italian and European seventeenth century. The exhibition, curated by Fabio De Chirico, proposes the intense dialogue of the cycle of paintings by Giovanni Gasparro, young artist from Puglia, compared to themes and stylistic debts, but proposing a figure quite contemporary, with the extraordinary works of Mattia Priests kept in the permanent collection and the collection of Bank Carime the National Gallery of Cosenza. Deep knowledge of past masters, Gasparro captures beauty, secrets and making them their own greatness in a re-reading the original that combines tradition and new figuration and that in an ongoing experiment material and technical virtuosity flows into allowing him to bring back to life also ' use, now obsolete, oil on mirror. The exhibition, which in addition to the paintings directly inspired by Mattia Preti consists of further work by the artist, born in particular with the aim of developing a channel comparison between instances of contemporary painting and the expressive values and content of the paintings of Cavalier Calabrese , it made possible thanks to a range of works and use an intriguing and complex exhibition set up in the museum. Giovanni Gasparro inferred values color and light as well as subjects, of their works by Mattia Preti, representing them on a singular reinterpretation adherent to contemporary sensibility. The works on display are made all 2009-2015. Centerpiece of the exhibition is the painting Torculus Christi. Mystic press with St. Gabriel dell'Addolorata and St. Gemma Galgani inspired by Crucifix with Saints Francis of Assisi and Bruno Mattia, painting of Mattia Preti. The work proposes the ancient iconography of Torculus Christi, typically late-medieval, falling gradually into disuse in the Renaissance tradition of painting and modern. The person identified as figurative reflection in devotional, Jesus shows the regent weighted cross from the press of the press while oozing blood profusely, riversandolo in a wooden vat full of grapes, which refers to the symbolism of the Eucharistic wine as the Blood of Christ poured out for the men . The composition is derived from the writings of the Old Testament "I have trodden the winepress alone, and of my people, no one was with me. I crushed them with disdain, trampled them in anger. Their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I stained all the clothes "(Isaiah 63.3) and in the New Testament from the Gospel of John in which Christ identifies himself with the vine" I am the true vine and my Father is the winegrower "(John 15.1). In addition to religious subjects different works profane theme, especially great-hour of trial inspired by two paintings depicting Hercules freeing Theseus and Hercules freeing Prometheus corpus pretiano Gallery of Cosenza. Very impressive series of painted mirrors, including St. Veronica inspired by the work of the same subject of the collection Carime of Cosenza, in which the user enters physically in the painting with his own reflection, remembering the great baroque decoration of mirrors and Carlo Maratta Mario de 'Fiori in the Galleria Colonna in Rome, in a timeless dialogue near the cubist and futuristic visions of the first half of the twentieth century.
